Mary E. Binkley

Mary Elizabeth Binkley, 74, of 1209 W. 16th St. S., Apt. 205, died Sunday evening, July 5, at the Skiff Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church. Visitation with the family will be held following the services.

The Rev. Ray Barnett, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev.William Miller, regional pastor of the Christian Church, will conduct the services.

Additional visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions to Jasper County Hospice or the First Christian Church in Newton will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband, the Rev. John R. Binkley, Jr. of Newton; a son, Mark Binkley of Des Moines; a daughter Martha (Mrs. Dale) Ellsworth of Kellogg; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother Joseph Floyd of Bloomington, Ind.; and a sister, Anna (Mrs. E. A. Maners) of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Binkley, who primary time was occupied with assisting her husband in the ministry, was a member of the First Christian Church and the 20th Century Club.

The daughter of Ora L. and Adah Zilla Zetcham Floyd she was born Nov 14, 1912 in Bloomington, Ind.
She was married Oct 10, 1930 in Bloomington, Ind.

Mrs. Binkley lived in Newton from 1951 until moving from the community in 1955 and returned to Newton in 1979.
