Greeley, Colo.- Graveside rites for Laurence D. Benjamin, 84, of 1302 12th St., Greeley, Colo. a former resident of Newton, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Newton Union Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Macy Chapel in Greeley.

He died Thursday in his home.

Survivors are a son, Bill of Gill, Colo.; a daughter Lila Wacker of Pierce, Colo., six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde of Canton, Ill., and Dale of Des Moines; and three sisters Ruth Paget of Seal Beach, Calif., Doris Storie of Riverside, Calif., and Helen Anderson of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carrie, two brothers, Leonard and Donald, a sister Dorothy and a grandson.

The son of David and Lillian Kuhn Benjamin, he was born Oct. 1, 1906 in Newton and was educated in Prairie City schools.

He was married to Carrie Mulbrook Dec 24, 1930 in Newton.

Mr. Benjamin moved to Greeley in 1947.
