W. Wayne Morgan Dies Saturday

W. Wayne Morgan, 70, of 1408 N. 4th Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1925, died Saturday evening at the Nelson Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Toland-Wallace funeral Home.

The Rev. Ray Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church, will conduct the service. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. today.

Survivors are two sons, Joseph Eldred Morgan of Newton and Byron Dwight Morgan of Newton; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Morgan of Gravity and Leland Morgan of Clarinda; and a sister, Iva McPherren of Clarinda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 1962, and a great-grandson.

Mr. Morgan, a Pharmacist in Newton for more than 40 years was a member of the State Pharmaceutical Association.

The son of Joe and Norma Swearingen Morgan, he was born May 11, 1902 in Gravity.

He was married to Leona Moore Jan. 31, 1920 at Gravity.
