Marilyn J. Lockhart Boothe, 64, of 424 E. 12th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1945 died of heart failure Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Skiff Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
Rev. Ed Aubuchon, pastor of the First Assembly of God, will conduct services.
Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials in her name will be accepted.
Survivors are her husband, Dean; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold D. and Alicia of Newton; a daughter, Linda Desplanque of Newton; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Also surviving are three sisters, Helen (Mrs. Archie) Holmes, Pauline (Mrs. Kenneth) Myers and Jeanne (Mrs. Wayne) Smith, all of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Francis, in infancy and Frank Lockhart, and three sisters, Loreta, in infancy, Mildren and Thelma Boothe, April 5, 1995.
Mrs. Boothe, a homemaker and crocheter, was a co-founder of the Newton Girl's Softball Association.
The daughter of Frank and Mae McKim Lockhart, she was born July 16, 1931 in the Red Rock area and was a 1949 graduate of Newton Community High School.
She was married to Dean Boothe July 22, 1950 in Newton.
Mrs. Boothe resided in Albia prior to moving to Newton.
