OBITUARY
Robert G. Riley
Mesa, Ariz. - Robert G. Riley, 78, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Newton, died Thursday afternoon, June 22, of heart failure at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral servises will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton with Dr. Roger Russell, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be at Arizona National Cemetery in Pheonix, Ariz. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. until service time with family present at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Robert's name or to the First United Methodist Church in Newton.
Born Nov. 11, 1921 in Newton, he was the son of Jerry and Caroline Robson Riley. He was a graduate of Newton High School. He was married to Nellie Leydens, Sept. 30, 1945 in the First United Methodist Church in Newton. He was employed at Iowa Elect Services as a meter reader retiring in 1983, after 31 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newton, Iowa B.E.W. Union, and the Newton Masonic Lodge No. 59 A.F. and A.M. He moved to Mesa, Ariz. in 1992.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Len Ferrigno of Clive; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a sister, Ardith Hart of Burbank, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his eight brothers and sister.
