Prairie City - Elizabeth Krohn, 93, of Prairie City, died Monday, Aug. 23, at Des Moines General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City with the Rev. Reg Merrill, pastor of the Prairie City United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home where family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The daughter of Thomas J. and Andreka Van Dusseldorp Newell, she was born April 16, 1906, in Jasper County. She was a graduate of Newton High School. She married Carl Beacher Krohn Sept. 9, 1926, in Prairie City.

Mrs. Krohn worked as a homemaker.

Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Carl and Opal of West Des Moines; a daughter, Lois Carter of Prairie City; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Newell of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, a brother, a sister and two half sisters.
