Dale W. Richardson, 73, of Sterling, Ill., died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at his daughter’s home in Joshua, Texas.
The son of Ralph and Dorothy Richardson, Dale was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Grinnell, Iowa. He was a 1956 graduate of Newton Senior High School, and he served in the Army.
He worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. in Sterling, Ill., for 30 years, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include his daughter, Penny of Joshua, Texas; his brother, Earl Richardson of Iowa; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sons, Edward, Gregory and Andrew.
A funeral service took place on June 10 at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling, Ill., with the Rev. Scott Porter officiating. Burial with full military honors was at Daysville Cemetery in rural Oregon.
