Dorothy A. Foster, 87, of Newton, died on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing in Newton.
Funeral services are pending at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Dorothy, the daughter of Edward and Alice Susan (Brown) Fick, was born on August 3, 1923 in Adair. She graduated from Adair-Casey High School in 1941. Dorothy was united in marriage with Everett Foster on January 1, 1948 in Des Moines. They made their home in Baxter where Dorothy was a homemaker. After retirement Everett and Dorothy moved to Newton and Dorothy worked seasonally at the Maytag Dairy Farm. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and flower and vegetable gardening. Dorothy is survived by her 2 sons, Charlie (Anita) Foster of Fordland, MO and Roger (Jenny) Foster of Denison; 2 daughters, Clara Foster of Newton and Rosemary (Kim) McKeever of Urbandale; her 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; and her brother, Harold (Marilyn) Fick of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett in 2003; and brother, Paul Fick.
