Dies Here; Funeral Services Tuesday

Henry R. Osborne, 83 year old retired farmer of the Amboy community, died at a local nursing home at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon after a prolonged illness due to several strokes.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon July 20, at 2 o'clock from the Morgan Funeral home. Interment will be in the Center Friends church cemetery.

A native of West Virginia, Mr. Osborne was born Nov. 18, 1859 and came to Iowa in his early boyhood.

Since his retirement from farming in the Amboy community in the 1920's he had made his home in Colfax and Baxter, before moving to Newton about six years ago.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rhoda Hammer who died in 1920, and by a daughter and son.

Immediate surviving relatives include a son, Orville, of Cedar Falls, Ia., 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Henry Osborne was born in Green Briar, W. Va. Nov. 18, 1859 and died in 1943 in Newton, Jasper, Iowa, USA.
