Rites Wednesday
for Mrs. Newman at Kellogg Church

KELLOGG (Special) -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Newman, 58, Kellogg resident who died at Yuba City, Calif., Saturday, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Kellogg Methodist church.

Conducting the rites will be the Rev. R. T. White of Corydon, assisted by the Rev. Grace Anderson of Kellogg. Johnson-Murdoch funeral home is in charge of arrangements, and burial will be in Newton Union cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Newman has requested that no flowers be sent to the funeral. Rather, they asked any contributions be added to a memorial fund for her which will be given to the Kellogg Methodist church.

Pallbearers will be Don Foster, Louis Lenz, Marion Sullens, August Schultz, Bruce Parsons and Floyd Miller. In charge of flowers will be Mrs. O. C. Norton and Mrs. J. A. Van Dyke. Richard Hunt, soloist, will furnish music accompanied by June Anderson, organist.

Mrs. Newman's body will be returned to Newton early Wednesday morning. She will be taken from the Johnson-Murdoch funeral home to Kellogg Methodist church at 10 a.m.

Born Aug. 8, 1895, she was the daughter of Henry and Amanda Somerville. Her birthplace was Wapello county. The Newmans operated an ice cream store at Yuba City during the summer.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Jackson, Madison, Wis.; a son, Lester, Dallas, Tex.; her husband; three sisters; three brothers and two grandchildren.
