Daisy Marquette, 7-year-old daughter of Mrs. Marquette, living in North Newton, died of diphtheria at about 11 o’clock Tuesday. The little girl had been sick for over a week. The funeral occurred at 10 o’clock Wednesday. ~ The Newton (IA) Record, Friday, February 28, 1896, Page 1, Column 2
