Prairie City – The remains of Mr. William Weir, who died Sunday in Ottumwa, were brought here on the train Monday and from there taken to Colfax for burial. Mr. Weir is a brother-in-law of Jacob Holderfer of this place. ~ The Newton Record, Part Two, Friday, January 17, 1896, Page 6, Column 1
