Thomas Vanderpool, a young man of about twenty years, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stoffle Vanderpool, three miles southwest of Sully, last week and was buried on Saturday at Dairy Grove Cemetery. His disease was typhoid pneumonia. ~ The Newton (IA) Record, Friday, February 7, 1896, Page 5, Column 2

Chester – Last Saturday afternoon at the Dairy Grove Chapel occurred the funeral of Tommy Vanderpool, a son of Stoffle Vanderpool. He was twenty years of age. He had lately been converted, so he departed this life in peace. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Van Emerick. The family have the sympathy of the entire community. ~ The Newton (IA) Record, Friday, February 7, 1896, Page 8, Column 6
