John Bohne, 70, Retired Farmer Dies Thursday
John Bohne, 70, retired farmer living with his sister, Mrs. Rosa McQuiston, south of Newton, died at 12:55 noon yesterday at the Skiff hospital.
Mr. Bohne entered the hospital Tuesday with tetanus poisoning, resulting in lock jaw and with complications of pneumonia, causing his death.
Funeral services will be held at the St. John’s Evangelical church, of which he was a member, at 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. The Rev. Emil Burrichter will officiate.
Mr. Bohne was born March 23, 1877, in Manitowac county, Wisconsin, the son of H. A. and Carolyn Bohne, and came to Jasper county with his parents in 1881. He had spent his entire life on the farm. He and two bachelor brothers farmed near Amboy from which Mr. Bohne retired five years ago to make his home with his sister.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Rosa McQuiston and Miss Mary Bohne of Newton; also four brothers, Herman, Henry, Charlie and Fred Bohne, all of Newton, and five nieces and two nephews.
