NEWTON - Henry J. Bohne Jr., 72, of Rt. 5, Newton, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Thursday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. David Raymond, pastor of the Newton Congregational United Church of Christ will conduct services. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, north of Newton.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Saturday.
Visitation with the family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Henry J. Bohne Sr. of Rt. 5, Newton; a brother, Richard of rural Newton; and five sisters, Marie Bohne of rural Newton, Mrs. Marion (Florence) Brantner, Mrs. William (Elsie) Loper and Mrs. Fred (Rosie) Moore, all of Newton, and Mrs. Denver (Sophie) Byal of Mingo.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Robert George, in infancy.
Mr. Bohne, a farmer, was baptized and confirmed member of St. John’s Church of Christ.
The son of Henry John and Dorothea Carolyn Hoerling Bohne, he was born March 4, 1910 at Chehalis, Wash.
