Henry Bohne, 88, Dies Sunday; Rites Will Be Tuesday
Henry Bohne Sr., 88, of Rt. 1, Newton, a longtime resident of the Newton community, died Sunday at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s United Church of Christ north of Newton.
The Rev. Glen Coleman, minister of the Bethany Evangelical and Reformed Church at Baxter, will conduct the services.
Mr. Bohne is survived by his wife, Dora; five daughters, Marie at home, Mrs. Marion (Florence) Brantner of Newton, Mrs. Denver (Sophie) Byal of Mingo, Mrs. Willard (Elsie) Loper of Newton and Mrs. Fred (Rosie) Moore of Newton; two sons, Henry and Richard at home; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Charley Bohne of Newton and a sister, Mary Bohne of Newton.
He was preceded in death by a son in infancy. The son of Henry August and Caroline Schnathorst Bohne, he was born Feb. 19, 1874 at Meeme, Wis.
He was married to Dorothy Caroline Hoerling Sept. 1, 1904 at Chehalis, Wash.
Mr. Bohne was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ.
Mr. Bohne farmed in the Newton community until his retirement.
