Death Comes to Henry Bohne, 87
Funeral Services to Be Held Tuesday at St. John’s Church
Henry Bohne, 87, farmer, died early Sunday morning at his home six miles north of Newton, following a two weeks illness. Death was caused by pneumonia.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the St. John’s Evangelical church by the Rev. John Ruhl. Interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Mr. Bohne was born in New York City in 1847, and lived in Wisconsin before coming to Jasper county 55 years ago. He was united in marriage to Carolina Schnathorst in Wisconsin, Oct. 18, 1871, and to this union 10 children were born.
Mrs. Bohne preceded her husband in death March 18, 1927, a daughter, Lottie, died a number of years ago and a son, August, died several years ago.
Mr. Bohne was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical church.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Ray McQuiston of south of Newton and Mary, at home; six sons, John, Henry, Will, Fred, Herman and Charles, all of north of Newton; and seven grandchildren. Two brothers, Fred and Herman Bohne of Cleveland, Wis., and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Rineman of Burlington, Wis., Mrs. Anna Thyer of Sheboygan, Wis., and Mrs. Amelia Kulp of Cleveland, Wis., also survive.
