Dorothea Carolyn “Dora” Hoerling Bohne, 99, of Rt. 5, Box 130, Newton, a longtime resident of Jasper County, died Monday afternoon, April 27, at the Skiff Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Congregational United Church of Christ.
The Rev. David Raymond, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions to the Congregational United Church of Christ will be accepted.
Survivors are a son, Richard Fred of nedwton; four daughters, Marie E. Bohne, Elsie M. Lper and Rosie R. Moore, all of Newton, and Sophie E. Byal of Mingo; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, Oct. 14, 1962, a son, Henry John, Dec. 9, 1982, a son Robert George in 1925, and a daughter, Florence Brantner, July 30, 1986.
Mrs. Bohne, a homemaker, was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ.
The daughter of Henry and Amelia Chollet Hoerling, she was born Oct. 29, 1887 north of Newton.
She was married to John Henry Bohne, Sept. 1, 1904 in Chehalis, Wash.
Mrs. Bohne had resided in Chehalis, Wash., from the age of eight until moving back to Jasper County in 1920.
