PASSING OF A GOOD MOTHER

Theresa Jane Hackett, widow of Joseph Francis Hackett, was born November 30, 1837, near Zanesville, Ohio. In 1847 the family moved to Wisconsin by emigrant wagon, and settled in Sock county. Here she met and married her husband in 1857 near the town of Mostyn. In 1877 Mr. and Mrs. Hackett came to Kellogg, where her husband died in 1880. With, the exception of a ten years' residence in Nebraska, this was her home until death. She united with the Church of Christ in Kellogg in 1876. She died September 10, 1911, aged 73 years, 9 months and 11 days. She is survived by one son, Dr. J. F. Hackett, one daughter, Mrs. Ida M. Irish, both of Kellogg, one brother, John Kinnamon of Wisconsin and one sister, Mrs. Susan Sprague of North Dakota.

After a long and blameless life she died as she had lived. She reared her own monument while she lived in the hearts of all who knew her. Her chirstian life was beautiful, and through all the vicissitudes and sorrows that she met in the way, her faith never wavered. But she has left us, and today the autumn leaves fall upon another grave that hides from our sight all that is mortal of a true and noble woman.

The funeral services were held in the Christian church on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.F. Ladd, after which the body was borne to the Kellogg cemetery to rest beside that of her husband.
