Gladys M. Nekola, 78, of Toledo died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton after losing a battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tama by Rev. Michael Mescher. Burial will be private Monday afternoon. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
She is survived by her son, Rex of Toledo; daughters, Suzanne Nekola of Grinnell, Geri (Jeff) Doyle of Newton, Regina (Casey) Hild of Atlanta, Ga. and Lorraine (Jon) Howard of Omaha; step-sister, Helen Timms of Galveston, Texas; also by six grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established. (Gladys was born April 9, 1932.)
