Pollard, Edwin Leo – 1925–2011

Edwin Leo Pollard, son of William Richard and Clara Elizabeth (Chamberlain) Pollard, was born April 1, 1925 in Osceola, Iowa. He passed away March 8, 2011 in Fayette, Missouri at the age of 85.
Edwin attended Clarke County Schools and was employed as a warehouseman at Super Valu in Des Moines for 30 years. He retired to his farm in Decatur County, Iowa. In recent years, he resided in Osceola before moving to Fayette, Missouri.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Ellen O’Donnell and Monica Cook, and seven brothers, Joe, Jim, Dale, Lorin, George, Clyde and Marvin Pollard, as well as a grandson, Daniel Pollard.
Edwin is survived by three sons, Tom of Des Moines, Jim of Spirit Lake, and John of Austin, Texas. He is survived by five daughters, Patricia Magneson of Des Moines, Cindy Pollard of Newton, Nancy Holtwick of Fayette, Missouri, Theresa Wing of Runnells, and Molly Lauer of Pleasantville. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 12 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Osceola with interment following in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be open after noon on Friday with family present from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kale funeral Home in Osceola. Rosary services will be at 7 p.m. Friday.
Pall bearers will be David Pollard, Jason Pollard, Scott Thomas, Theo Holtwick, Drew Holtwick, and Dylan Lauer.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Bernard Catholic Church Knights of Columbus.
