Jayne Ann Moomaw, 69, of Colfax died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Colfax United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at the church. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The daughter of Harry and Mary Juanita (Toney) Paynter, Jayne was born on April 20, 1941, in Colfax. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1959 and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physical Education from the State Teachers College (UNI). Jayne was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Red Hats Society, TOPS, and was active at the Colfax Senior Center. Jayne also had a love for the arts, whether it was painting, poetry, or singing. She also authored her own book, "Good Jayne, Bad Jayne."
Those left to honor her memory are her children; Todd Moomaw of Gilbert, Iowa, Chad (Sheryl) Moomaw of LaVista, Nebraska, and Lisa (Michael) Hammel of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Hannah Grace, Katie, Sean, Danielle, Sydney, Ripper, and Paige; a sister, Mary Pratt of Colfax and a brother, Bill (Rochelle) Paynter of New Virginia, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Paul and Jack and a sister, Bobbie.
