Mikeo L. “Mike” McGinnis, 53, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Newton, died on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at the Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa.
The family will greet friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Mikeo L. McGinnis was born April 19, 1957.

Those left to honor Mike's memory are his 2 daughters, Melissa Sanders of Oskaloosa and Tanya Miller of Newton; son, John McGinnis of Oskaloosa; his 2 grandchildren, Jerzie Sanders and Bladen Sanders; mother, Gertrude Hites of Newton; father, Rollie McGinnis of Kellogg; his sister, Donna Lane of Knoxville; brother, Nigle McGinnis of Knoxville; his 2 half-brothers, Jim McGinnis of Davenport and Menvil (Starla) Hites of Boone; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; sister, Cynthia McGinnis; and his step-mother, Eleanor McGinnis.

Mike worked at the Jasper County Courthouse for 15 years in Maintenance. He enjoyed playing pool and drinking iced tea and Mt. Dew. He also liked eagles and Harley Davidson.
