Kathleen Dawn Manley Thurman, 62, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at her home in Gilbert, Ariz.
Kathy was born Oct. 18, 1948 in Newton, Iowa, to Donald Ernest and Colleen Marie (Harbour) Manley. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1966. Kathy and Lyle Marion Thurman were united in marriage on Sept. 4, 1968, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Left to cherish her memory are husband Lyle of Gilbert; daughter and son-in-law Melissa Dawn and Michael Kendrick of Gilbert; son and daughter-in-law Lyle Greg and Jennifer Thurman of Laketon, Ind.; grandchildren Gabe Kendrick, Cody Parker, Harley Thurman, Lacey Thurman and Chelsea Thurman; brother Ronald (Renee) Manley of Newton; and sisters Jayne (Mancil Laidig) McKeever of Newton, Susan (Randy Cooley) Manley of Marshalltown and Rebecca (Tony) Farver of Newton. Kathy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Those preceding her in death were her parents in 1978 and 1988; brother Michael Lee Manley in 1965; and sisters Nancy Kay Mackerman in 2005 and Mary Jean Manley in 2010.
Family and friends will join to celebrate Kathy’s life on March 3 at The Shenandoah Mill in Gilbert. Memorials may be made in Kathy’s name to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix or to a favorite charity of choice. Angels Cremation and Burial of Mesa handled arrangements.
