Marian J. (Mahl) Fick, 87, of Beloit, Wis., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, in Alden Meadow Park Health Care Center, Clinton, Wis.
She was born Jan. 23, 1924 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of William and Johanna (Schoepske) Mahl. Marian was a 1943 graduate of Newton Senior High School. She married Raymond J. Fick on Jan. 26, 1947, in Newton, Iowa. He predeceased her on April 11, 1996.
Marian was employed by the Maytag Company and Fairbanks Morse. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she belonged to the church choir. Marian was also a member of Grinnell Hall and the Goldenaire Chorus.
Survivors include her two daughters, Nancy J. Fick of Beloit, Wis., and Christine E. (William) Madura of Schererville, Ind.
She was predeceased by her parents and nine brothers and sisters, Walter Mahl, Cornelia Awtry, Dorothy Hoyt, Elmer Mahl, David Mahl, Harold Mahl, Robert Mahl, Edwin Mahl and Marian’s twin brother, Melvin Mahl.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in Messiah Lutheran Church, 1531 Townline Ave., Beloit, Wis., with Pastor Jason Reed officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, Ill. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, Wis., assisted the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Messiah Lutheran Church.
