Peggy Anne Owen, 54, died on Feb. 18, 2011, at Careage Nursing Home in Newton, Iowa. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Loree officiating.
Peggy was born in Flint, Mich., on June 28, 1956. She also lived in Missouri and Wisconsin before coming to Iowa. She lived with her parents for 40 years before entering Jasper County Care Facility. She has lived at Careage Nursing home for the past 11 years.
Peggy asked Jesus to be her Savior when she was 8 years old. She enjoyed attending church services, Bible study and devotions at Careage. She was also an avid bingo player and doll collector. She enjoyed her family of staff and residents.
Peggy is survived by her parents, Leland and Nancy Owen of Newton; a brother, James (Angela) Owen of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Linda (Randy) Hummel; and a niece, Ashley Hummel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas, and her grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Missions or Hospice of Jasper County.
Only God could make such a difficult life so beautiful.
