HOUGH, STUVER, SIMS

OBITUARY - Died at their residence on Mulberry Street, Newton, Iowa, Mrs. Elizabeth Hough, wife of J. B. Hough, on the 10th of June 1892, at the setting of the sun. This devoted wife and mother was born on the 20th of August 1822, near Waterford, Loudoun County, East Virginia, of parents members of the Society of Friends, and on the 17th of March, 1846, was married to Joseph B. Hough, who survives his departed wife. On the Sabbath evening of the 12th inst., at the setting of the sun, she was laid at rest by the side of her oldest daughter, Mrs. Jospehine Stuver, on the family lot in the beautiful cemetery at Newton. She leaves a family of two daughters and three sons. She was the mother of seven children, as follows:

Josephine, married to Aaron Stuver and now deceased; Evelyn, married to Joseph Sims now living in Los Angeles, Cal.; Ann Elizabeth, who died in infancy; Eleanor Virginia, who has always remainded with her parents; Emerson, now resident in Chicago, Ill.; Edgar Clayton, resident of Villisca, Iowa; Norman Hamlin, residing in Minneapolis, Minn. Alice Stuver is the adopted daughter of their oldest daughter Josephine, and now resides with the family at their residence on Mulberry Street.

The departed left us with the sure hope of a blessed immortality. "For as in Adam, all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive."
