MONROE — Evelyn Joann Clark, 74, of Monroe died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Hospice of Pella — Comfort House.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Monroe Presbyterian Church. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Feb., 8, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the church. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Monroe Emergency Unit or Hospice of Pella — Comfort House, and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of Floyd and Mary (Shore) Neff, Joann was born on Nov. 25, 1936, in Knoxville, Iowa. Joann graduated from Monroe Community Schools. On Feb. 14, 1953, she was united in marriage to David V. Clark at the Presbyterian Church in Monroe. Joann worked as a cook at the PCM High School for 26 years. She was a member of the Monroe Presbyterian Church and Community Church of Christ.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, David; her children, Jacque (Terry) Buckingham of Monroe, Connie Clark and Mark Sukkel of Monroe, Jerry (Deana) Clark of Monroe and George (Janet) Clark of Newton; grandchildren, Wade Farver, Todd (Fawn) Farver, Melissa (Jeremy) Masterson, Randi Clark, Cyle Brown, Lacey (David) Nickelson, Mackenzie Clark, Amanda Buckingham and Danny Buckingham; and great-grandchildren, Evie and Nick Farver, Logan Mason, Josie and Cassie Brooks, Dylan and Isabelle Masterson, Caden, Jocie, Caylee Brown, Gracelyn and Donovan Nickelson. Also surviving are her brothers, Francis (Violet) Neff, Dwight (Karen) Neff, Kenneth (Dawn) Neff and Cecil (Judy) Neff, all of Monroe, and a sister-in-law, Wanda Burkett of Grinnell.
Preceding Joann in death were her parents, an infant daughter, Brenda, and a brother, Robert.
