Shari K. (Blackledge) Simbro, 57, surrounded by her family, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Community Heights Alliance Church, 2500 S. 13th Ave E. in Newton. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church in Newton. A private family burial will be held at the Dunreath Cemetery in rural Monroe.
Memorials to the Community Heights Alliance Church or to the Iowa Donor Network may be left at the church at the times of the visitation or service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
Survivors include her husband, Kris of Newton; daughter, Resa (Heath) Eckhart of Urbandale; two sons, Ryan (Sara) Simbro of Prairie City and Cody (Stacey) Simbro of Newton; her five grandchildren, Ella and Emma Eckhart, Ryder and Rylyn Simbro and Brock Simbro; two brothers, Leland (Beth) Blackledge of St. Paul, Minn., and Leslie (Pam) Blackledge of Newton; four sisters, Roberta (James) Vermillion of Newton, Marvelyn Burk of Longview, Wash., Juanita Shuey of Newton and Jan (Ron) Smith of Tama; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara Knox.
