Rites Friday for Floyd C. Clark, 80

Floyd C. Clark, 80, of Colfax, died Tuesday evening June 29, at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, July 2, at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Mitchellville Cemetery. Mr. Clark was born March 23, 1902, at Oswalt, IA., the son of Harry C. and Emily Pearson Clark. He attended high school at Mitchellville. He was married October 14, 1925, to Coleen Grinstead at Ames. He was a retired farmer and developer of the Clark Mobile Home Court. He was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church, the Masonic Lodge of Mitchellville, The Colfax Kiwanis Club, of which he was a past president, the Colfax Area Senior Citizens and the Senior Singers of Colfax. Survivors are his wife Coleen, three children, James H. Clark of Altoona; Mrs. Herbert (Donna) Vermie of Akron, OH.; and Jack D. Clark of Cedarville, OH.; one brother Everett B. of Mitchellville and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ernest. A memorial has been set up in Mr. Clark’s name for the Colfax Area Senior Center. ~ Jasper County Tribune, July 1, 1982
