Jack L. Good, 85, of Colfax died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at the VA Long-Term Care Facilities in Des Moines.
A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at the Howard Street Christian Church of Colfax with burial following at Colfax Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Winfield Scott and Katharine Leona (Hanawalt) Good, Jack was born on March 12, 1925 in Colfax, Iowa. Jack served as a member of the United States Navy during WWII aboard the USS Suwannee. While in the Navy, He received the Purple Heart, a Presidential Citation, and 13 Battle Stars. On March 11, 1951 Jack was united in marriage with Bonnie Borts in Colfax. Jack spent 31 years working for Firestone Tire and Rubber in Des Moines. Jack enjoyed teasing people and in his younger years he loved hunting and fishing. Jack was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church of Colfax.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife of nearly 60 years, Bonnie Good of Colfax; two daughters, Jeanette (Russell) Boyd of Morley, Michigan and Jacqueline (Walter) Wilty of Fruitland, Idaho; five grandchildren, Kellie Moore, Karrie VanHam, Scott Wilty, Amy Jo Warner, and Russell Boyd III; twelve great-grandchildren, and one niece, Evelyne Ahnen. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, one son, John Michael Good, one brother, Cecil, and three sisters, Mildred, Virginia, and Daisy.
