FRANK H. OLIPHANT
DIES ON THURSDAY;
RITES SATURDAY

NEWTON--Frank Harold Oliphant, 72, of 224 Country Club Acres, a resident of Newton since 1971, died Thursday morning at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Harold Schutte, associate pastor of the First Assembly of God, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth; a son, Thomas Dale Oliphant of Skidmore, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Gosse of Waterloo; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Follet of Fillmore, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Oliphant, a member of the Church of Christ in Des Moines, had been a building contractor in Cedar Falls and Waterloo until retiring in 1971.
The son of John and Emma Wilkerson Oliphant, he was born Oct. 15, 1910.
He was married to Elizabeth Robson Nov. 17, 1934 at Kirksville, Mo.
