ELIZABETH C. OLIPHANT
Graveside rites for Elizabeth C. Robson Oliphant, 78, of the Newton Health Care Center, formerly of 224 Country Club Acres, a resident of Newton since 1971, were held today, Dec. 10, at Newton Union Cemetery.
The Rev. James Black, pastor of the Foursquare Church, conducted services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
Wallace-Pence Funeral Home handled arrangements.
She died Friday at the care center.
Survivors are a son, Thomas Dale of Waterloo; a daughter, Barbara Gosse of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Paul Robson Sr. of Newton and Elmer James Robson of Dike; and two sisters, Martha (Mrs. Robert) Guthrie of Newton and Grace (Mrs. Ray) Schutte of Kellogg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank, in March, 1983, six brothers, Joseph, Norman, Raymond, Wilbur, Howard and Harvey; and a sister, Margaret.
Mrs. Oliphant, a homemaker, had lived in Cedar Falls for many years prior to moving to Newton.
The daughter of John Thomas and Martha Ann Knapp Robson, she was born Feb. 24, 1912 in Colfax.
She was married to Frank Harold Oliphant Nov. 17, 1934 in Kirksville, Mo.Source: Newton (IA) Daily News, Monday, December 10, 1990
