KELLOGG COUPLE DEAD; AUTOPSIES ARE ORDERED

KELLOGG -- A Kellogg couple was found dead in bed this morning in their home behind a small insurance business they operated in Kellogg.

Dead are Clyde Sonderegger, 71, and his wife Naomi, 63. An empty barbituate bottle was found at the scene.

County Coroner Harold A. Van Hofwegen said autopsies are being performed in Des Moines to determine if the deaths were a double suicide or a case of a natural death and a suicide.

Mrs. Sonderegger was last seen Saturday afternoon and the condition of the bodies would indicate the deaths might have occurred Saturday night, according to deputy sheriff Alan Wheeler.

Johnson Funeral Home in Newton will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
