K. Arnold Hunter, 87, of Mingo died on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing in Newton.
Funeral services are pending at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

K. Arnold Hunter was born August 07, 1922.
Visitation: The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m., until the time of service on Monday, August 02, 2010 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m., Monday, August 02, 2010 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the services and lunch on Friday, August 02, 2010 at the Union Chapel Cemetery in rural Ira, Iowa.
Those left to honor Arnold's memory are his son, Allen Hunter of Mingo; his daughter, Sue Maher of Mingo; six grandsons, Sean (Kelly) Maher of Altoona, Ryan (Theresa) Maher of Baxter, Kirby Maher of Baxter, Stephen Hunter of Colfax, Bryce (Ashley) Hunter of Mitchellville, and Dustin Hunter of Mingo; eleven great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law, LaVon Hunter of Ira. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Beulah (Dodd) Hunter; wife, Doris on January 11, 2010; two brothers, Ralph and Conrad Hunter.
Arnold was a graduate of Mingo High School and he had attended Iowa State University in Ames. Arnold was a farmer.
Arnold enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, his fishing trips to Canada, deer hunting, and vegetable gardening.
Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
