Harold E. Rooker, 87, of Newton, formerly of Mitchellville, died on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing in Newton.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the Mitchellville Cemetery in Mitchellville. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Harold E. Rooker was born March 04, 1923.
Military Honors by the Iowa Honor Guard of the Iowa Army National Guard in Johnston, Iowa.
Those left to honor Harold's memory are his wife, Debra K. Logan Rooker of Texas; son, Harold E. Rooker of Des Moines; two daughters, Stella S. (Les) Wilson of Newton and Princess Ann Wilson of Newton; his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Benton and Maude Vivian (McClennahan) Rooker; five brothers and a sister.
Harold served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II.
Harold delivered Standard Oil products in Mitchellville and surrounding area for many years. He had also worked as a handyman.
Harold was a member of the Mitchellville Christian Church for 58 years and a 60 year member of American Legion Post 155 in Mitchellville. He enjoyed Bingo, fishing, roller skating, Country music, playing the piano, accordion and harmonica and girl watching.
Memorials in Harold's name may be left at the funeral home.
