Robert H. White, 82, of Newton died on Monday, July 5, 2010, at his home in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include his two sons, Robert G. (Vicki) White of Harrisonville, Mo., and Tim R. (Sue) White of Newton; his daughter, Linda M. Hammer of Newton; six grandchildren, Tammy White, Brian White, Melissa (Kenneth) Strand, Malaney (Chad) Burton, Amy White and Sabrina White; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; his brother, Bruce E. (Carolyn) White of Newton; his sister, Barbara Talbot of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert H. White was born August 29, 1927
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Emma Ethel (Watkins) White; wife, Mary in 1998; five brothers, Junior, Frankie, Charles, Barry L. and James White; and sister, Ethel Mae White in infancy.
Bob graduated from Newton High School in 1946. Bob retired from the Newton Water Department after working 47 years.
Bob was a member of the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League. Bob loved being with or anything to help his family. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and stock car races.
