Woman at Mingo Dies

MINGO, IA. - Mrs. Ira Cummings, 57, of Mingo died at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Sunday morning at 3:30 o'clock following a prolonged illness. She had submitted to a major operation Saturday.

Mrs. Cummings, the former Carrie Steele was a longtime resident of the county. She is survived by her husband, a county highway maintenance employee and two sons, Dennis and Blaine, both of Mingo. A son preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at the Mingo Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Monday, May 11, 1942
