A Mother in Israel Taken

One of the largest funerals that has been held in Galesburg during the past fifteen years, was that of Mr. Myra Perry, last Sunday. She was the wife of Mr. Daniel Perry, who died about a year ago, and a sister of Mr. Henry Efnor, of this city. She leaves a family of eight children, five girls and three boys, all of whom are married except two of the girls. The very large funeral, when the terrible condition of the roads are remembered, attest to the high estimation in the community in which she has lived for many years. The services were conducted by Rev. Wright, of the Christian Church, of Des Moines. Deceased was a long-time member of this denomination, and by her earnest work, and bright Christian example, in the church and in the community, will be long remembered and mourned.

Deceased was born Feb. 16, 1825, in Saratoga County, New York; married Daniel Perry in 1849; moved to Iowa and to Jasper County, 1854, and died April 9, 1897, aged 62 years.

The friends desire us to return thanks to all who by their acts of kindness assisted them in this, their dire affliction. ~ Newspaper unknown.
