Newell A. “Newt” Wolf, 64, of Newton died on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. A private family burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice of Jasper County.
Those left to honor Newt’s memory are his wife, Jane of Newton; son, Mark (Heather) Wolf of Newton; his daughter, Trisda (Terry) Nielsen of Harlan, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Ellie, Connor, Rylie, Brittney, and Brett; his brother, Kenneth (Micky) Wolf of Shelby, Montana; 2 sisters, Marlene Gwin of Sigourney, Iowa and Beverley (Don) Gray of Montezuma, Iowa; his 2 brothers-in-law, Marvin (Dena) Gearhart of Newton and Harry (Marsha) Gearhart of Newton; his 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Fifer of Newton and Roberta (Don) Emery of Drexel, Missouri and his many nieces and nephews.

Newell A. "Newt" Wolf was born February 04, 1946.
Newt was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert "Gyp" and Maxine (Mohr) Wolf and sister Carolyn in infancy.
Newt was a 1964 Monroe High School graduate. He was united in marriage with Jane Gearhart on March 18, 1966 in Monroe, Iowa. Newt worked for the United Telephone Co. from 1969 to 1989. Currently he was the owner of Wolf's Phone Connection.
Newt was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton, Newton Elks and the Iowa Street Rod Association. He enjoyed camping, street rods, working in his shop, dancing, music, his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Hospice of Jasper County. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service.
