Sarah Jean Hitze, 1 month and 11 days, died on Friday, June 18, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Sarah is the daughter of Fred Hitze and Stephanie Perdue of Newton. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Those left to honor Sarah's memory are her parents, Fred Hitze and Stephanie Perdue; maternal grandparents, Kim Perdue and Dennis Perdue; her paternal grandparents, James Hitze and Dayna Prather; maternal great-grandparents, Barbara (Frank) Mistretta, Henry Perdue, and Janice Perdue; her paternal great-grandparents, Ernest (Rose Mary) Rogers and James Hitze; maternal great-grandmother, Carmen Albert; her aunts and uncle, Erica, Tiffany, and Matthew Perdue and Stephanie Hitze; cousins, Kayla Hitze and Hailey Emary; and her godparents, Melissa YellowElk and Preston Conner.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Ernie Hitze; maternal great-grandfather, Hector Alber; and paternal great-grandmother, Susie Hitze.
