Sully, Iowa – Harris Beyer, 77, of Sully, died of cancer, Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Pella Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Sully Christian Reformed Church in Sully with the Rev. Larry Howerzyl officiating. Burial will be at the Sully Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Sully Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Sully.
Memorials to Hospice of Pella will be accepted.
The son of Edward and Josie (De Zwarte) Beyer, he was born Jan. 6, 1920, near Pella. He completed school through the tenth grade.
He married Marie Van Zante March 6, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo.
A lifelong resident of Sully he moved from a family farm to the town in 1979. That same year he retired after years of farming. He was a member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church and Sully Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald of Grinnell and Gary of Sully; five grandchildren; two brothers, Harold of Sully and Bill of Newton; and a sister Leulla of Newton.
He was preceded in death by His parents; his wife; and two brothers.
