Funeral services for Richard Fred Bohne, 74, 0f 4323 Highway F-36 W., Newton, were held today, Dec. 6, at the Newton Congregational United Church of Christ.
The Rev. David Raymond, pastor of the church, conducted services.
Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery north of Newton.
Memorials to the church will be accepted.
Wallace-Pence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bohne died Monday of complications of a stroke and pneumonia at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Survivors are four sisters, Marie Bohne of Newton, Sophie Byal of Mingo, Elsie Loper of Colonial Manor in Baxter and Rosie Moore of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Henry Jr., and a sister, Florence Brantner.
Mr. Bohne, a farmer and carpenter, was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ.
The son of Henry John and Dorothea Carolyn Hoerling Bohne Sr., he was born Nov. 1, 1921 near Newton.
