Mingo – Claude M. Baldwin, 96, a resident of Mingo most of his life, died of congestive heart failure Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Farrar United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Robert Gamble will conduct services. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery near Mingo.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell.
Family visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Farrar United Methodist Church will be accepted.
Survivors are a daughter, Ann Peterson of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeannetta Norton of Ankeny.
Mr. Baldwin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Louise, Oct. 12, 1995, a son, James H., and a granddaughter, Claudia Baldwin.
Mr. Baldwin, a farmer, was a member of the Farrar United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.
The son of Eugene and Ida Hay Baldwin, he was born Feb. 13, 1899 in Mingo.
He was married to Louise Norton May 18, 1935 in Bondurant.
