Loran Mae Million Brown, 50, of 7050 Highway F-48, a resident of the Newton area for almost 30 years, died of cancer Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Garold Quick, pastor of the Metz Community Church in rural Newton, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today and visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials to Hospice of Central Iowa will be accepted.
Survivors are her husband, Bill; a son Eric W. of Ottumwa; and two daughters Kimberly L. Brown of Paton and Tracey R. Brown of Des Moines.
Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Karen and Mary Lewis of Elliott, William Lewis of Red Oak and Gary and Jackie Lewis of Missoula, Mont.; and three sisters, Sharon (Mrs. Ray) Mitchel of Corning, Betty (Mrs. Cecil) Bullington of Red Oak and Mary Jane (Mrs. Eugene) Waymire of Hastings. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A cosmetologist, she was employed at Hendrickson’s Greenhouse and sold Longaberger Baskets. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Sugar Grove Ladies Club.
The daughter of Otho William and Lillian Easter Million, she was born Oct. 22, 1945 at Emerson.
A high school graduate, Mrs. Brown attended the Americana Academy of Beauty for two years.
She was married to Bill Brown March 26, 1964 in Des Moines.
A resident of Jasper County since 1968, she also had resided in Emerson and Des Moines.
