Obituary

John Mudgett

John Mudgett, son of Myron and Eliza Mudgett was born near Galesburg, Ia., Sept. 30, 1872 and died Oct. 14, at the age of 66 years and 14 days. He lived in the vicinity of Galesburg and Reasnor all his life where he was highly respected by the community.

He had been employed on the farm of Ira Zwank for eighteen years until last spring when his health failed him and he moved into Reasnor. Two weeks ago he submitted to an operation in the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Episcopal church at Reasnor, Oct. 16, with the Rev. W. W. Watson, pastor of the church officiating. interment was in the Hewitt cemetery.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Louis Vander Poll, Miss Juanita Spain, George Tool and Clarence Tool accompanied by Mrs. W. Watson.

Pallbearers were Ira Zwank, Harmen Zwank, Peter Zwank, David East, John Gorman and Jay Lamb. Mrs. Earl Gearhart and Mrs. Harmen Zwank had charge of the flowers.

Mr. Mudgett was one of eleven children, four of whom are now living; one brother, Philip of Newton, and three sisters, Mrs. Albert Brush of Shenandoah, Mrs. Albby McDonald of Nebraska and Mrs. Emma Lowler living in Montana. Surviving also are several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brush of Shenandoah, Mrs. Ella Mudgett and Arlie. Mrs and Mrs. Ollie Winters and family, Mr. and Mrs. McCoy and Sammie of Knoxville and Mrs. Brush from Coin, Ia. ~ Newspaper unknown.
