INEZ POWERS, 74, LIFETIME KELLOGG RESIDENT SUCCUMBS

Funeral services for Inez Powers, 74, Kellogg, well known area resident who died Monday evening at a Des Moines hospital, were held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Kellogg Christian church.

Officiating at the services was the Rev. Charles H. Fry. Interment was in Our Silent City cemetery at Kellogg.

Daughter of Charles T. and Armelda Powers, she was born near Kellogg on March 18, 1885. Miss Powers, who never married, lived her entire life in the Kellogg area until she moved to Des Moines in February of this year.

A retired school teacher, Miss Powers was also secretary of the Kellogg Telephone Co. She was a life member of the Easter Star and served that organization as secretary.

She is survived by one brother, Clarence Powers of Newton, and several cousins.

For many years, Miss Powers was Kellogg correspondent for the Herald-Register.
