Richard David Casady, 64, of Oxford, Miss., died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Miss.
A gathering of friends and family is scheduled for this morning at Avent’s Park in Oxford, Miss., to celebrate Mr. Casady’s life. Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Born in Missouri, Mr. Casady had lived in Iowa for 13 years before moving to Oxford. He was employed in the security profession. Mr. Casady enjoyed writing and had completed one book. One of his hobbies was shooting pool. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Casady was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Nedra Forquer Casady of Oxford, MS; two daughters, Jacquelynn J. Mahan of Oxford, MS and Melissa Yager of Burlington, IA; one son, Henry E. Heackethron of Oxford, MS; one sister, Judith Westercamp of Kellogg, IA; one brother, Harvey Casady of Oak Grove, MO; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
His parents, Dale and Carol Casady, preceded Mr. Casady in death.
