Henry M. Ashby Dies at 53
Henry M. Ashby, 53, farmer of the Bethel Neighborhood in Richland township died Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Community hospital in Grinnell after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Bethel church with interment in the Bethel cemetery.
Mr. Ashby, prominent in affairs in Richland township, was assessor of the township for 24 years and also served several years on the school board of the township as secretary.
He always had made his home in Richland township and was united in marriage to Edith Burnham on Dec. 22, 1916.
Surviving are his widow and children, Harry M., Robert W., Alfred T., and Margaret I., also one brother, Robert T. of the same neighborhood.
