Lisa Diane Whitham, 44, born July 10, 1965, the biological daughter of Nanci Deaton and the late Jim Butler, passed away Feb. 4, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her children, Danielle, Steven, John and Elisha; her grandson, Aydan; her sister, Amy Hansen, and her three sons, Ivan, Kaleb and Callyn; her brother, John Oliviera, and his daughter, Hannah; her grandmother, Beatrice Richardson; aunts, uncles and cousins; her father’s only surviving brother, Richard “Dick” Butler and family; and her adoptive parents, John and Sue Bond. We will miss her very much.

Lisa Diane Whitham (Bond), passed away February 4, 2010, after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with lung cancer. At the time of her death she was surrounded by her loving children, parents and pastors.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, and Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Maple Hill Funeral Home, 3300 Shawnee Drive. Inurnment will be held following the services at Maple Hill Cemetery. Lisa requested no flowers, instead please make donations to John and/or Sue Bond for The Whitham Children c/o Maple Hill Funeral Home.
Lisa was born in Kansas City, Kan., but spent most of her life in Shawnee, Kan., where she graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. She was Food Service Manager at Shawnee Elementary School where she was working at the time of her death.
Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Whitham, paternal grandparents, Nelson and Ethel Bond, maternal grandparents, Oscar and Addie DeBerry.
She is survived by her four children, Danielle, Steven, John and Elisha, grandson, Aydin Redmon and aunts uncles and cousins and many friends.
A special thanks to the doctors and nurses on Unit 42 at KU Med Center and also everyone in the ICU for the wonderful care the gave Lisa during her last days and hours.
